Shutlingsloe & Wildboarclough

Follow Peter Hough through a former Royal Hunting Forest and across the pretty moorlands of Wildboarclough, on the edge of the Peak District, to Shutlingsloe, dubbed the Cheshire Matterhorn.

From the top you have unrestricted views of Shining Tor, Kinder, The Cloud and the mountains of Wales.

If you don’t want to walk to the summit, you can skirt the hilltop on a path around the base.

Look out for red deer in Macclesfield Forest, and the reservoirs are home to many species of wildfowl.
