About the event

Join Peter, Linda and Jane on this 7 mile mostly flat walk along canal towpaths, lanes & bridleways.

Walking along the Trent and Mersey canal to Wychnor, along Dogleg Lane over the Canal and past Barton Quarry finishing in the Arboretum where you can explore all the wonderful monuments.

The Arboretum has over 400 memorials and is alongside the River Swarbourn. The path around it is approx. 2 miles long, there are many more offshoots, which you can explore at your own leisure. The visitor centre and café is open until 5pm, but you can stay in the park longer if you wish to after the walk.

Optional visit to: The William IV Inn, after the walk.

Difficulty: Easy

Distance: 7 miles approx.

Meet up on the car park of the Swimming baths in Market Drayton, and then travel to the start point from Market Drayton, that way if anyone needs a lift those with cars may be able to assist? If you live more locally to the start point you can travel direct to the start point, but YOU MUST make us aware via an email message!

Pease remember, no one is guaranteed a lift it is purely at the discretion of those travelling to the walk in there own vehicle.

We leave the swimming baths at: 08.15am prompt.

The meeting point will be outside The William IV Inn, on William IV Street, Alrewas at 09.45am post code DE13 7AN.

You can't use their carpark as it's only small, but there is plenty of free roadside parking around the village.
